World Ecosystems Beyond Borders (WEBB)
An Environmental Curriculum for Wisconsin Students

The WEBB curriculum engages Wisconsin students in a dynamic study of local and global environmental issues -- in part by comparing issues faced by Wisconsin communities and communities abroad. Each unit is designed to be teacher-friendly, containing background information, activities, and an extensive list of resources. The curriculum encourages critical thinking and uses a variety of instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. And while they were prepared with a middle school audience in mind, the material in the curriculum units can be easily adapted and used in the high school classroom.

What are the WEBB curriculum goals?

    • Prepare students for citizenship in an increasingly interconnected world.
    • Increase students' awareness of environmental issues on a local and global scale.
    • Increase students' awareness of world geography and global connections.
    • Address Wisconsin teacher standards 1, 4, 7, and 10.
